Les Nouvelles Esthetiques, South
Africa would like you invite all spas to participate in the 5th
Annual South African Spa Awards, presented in association with Les
Nouvelles Esthetiques & Spa, Paris.
The Concept
Spas are the source of finding a sense of well-being.
They are a sanctuary where one can escape and a place to unwind.
They allow us to renew our body, mind and soul, and although society
generally has moved away from embracing recreational time, we are
finally coming full circle and embracing this time to revive and
de-stress.
The phenomenal growth in the Spa Industry in South Africa is
symbolic to this, thus the Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Sanitas Per
Aquas (S.P.A) Awards was established in 2005 to honour this
flourishing market and those who excel in their field.
These prestigious awards acknowledge excellence and those who set
the benchmark, in quality and innovation within the Spa, Health &
Wellness Industry.
Winners and finalists of South Africa are recognised both within
South Africa and Internationally, attracting the attention of both
spa-goers and industry experts, as an extensive media campaign
ensure the spotlight of excellence is certainly focused on these
spas.
Credibility
The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards are trustworthy
and transparent and have become the Spa Awards of Choice throughout
South Africa as they represent the true picture of the spa industry.
The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards were the first spa awards
to be introduced to South Africa and offers a focused and
comprehensive line-up of spas categories, which encompasses all
aspects of a spa, including quality of treatments, design,
marketing, staff qualifications and training programs and the little
extras that make the customer experience.
Additionally the Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards focuses on the
people within the industry who have made an outstanding contribution
to the industry in the past year, through the 3 recognition awards,
namely, Spa Humanitarian, Spa Visionary and Spa Ambassador Awards.
The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards are proud to celebrate the
outstanding efforts of individuals and spas driving the exceptional
standard of excellence of the South African Spa Industry.

The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Awards Gala Dinner is an evening
filled with excitement and glamour as some of the industries most
respected and well-known names and media came together to
acknowledge their peers and celebrate spa excellence.
A not to be missed event, so ensure you book your seat or table for
your spa early to avoid disappointment.

Winning the award creates widespread acknowledgement and this in

a leap of faith. Winning or being a finalist is great for the
‘certificate on the wall’ and for use in advertising and to give
your marketing message credibility.
I however see the main values in the following:
1) Measuring your Spa against others, gives management an insight of
how to either stay ahead of the competition or make strategic
changes to what you have to offer. 2) Winning or being a finalist is
good for staff self image and morale. We always make the point that
the winning of an award is as much about the personnel, their
professionalism and attitudes, as it is about the Spa design,
facilities and ambiance. We extend the recognition of achievement

“Being a spa judge is not as easy as it looks because South Africa
has so many top class spas - sometimes it would be so much easier to
have more than one winner. However, we need to remember that the
winner is not picked by one judge but evaluated on a host of
different criteria and by other judges and this makes the judging so
much more exciting and without any bias as the judges themselves do
not know who the winner is until they are announced at the awards
dinner.
Winners are not based on size or having a well known name in
industry. Winners are those who show consistency in service,
demonstrate high levels of standards in every spa aspect and winners
are those look at continual improvements to meet ever changing
client requirements and spa trends. Service, standards and
consistency are criteria which distinguish a winning spa.” Celeste
