Wellness is defined by the Merriam-Webster's Medical
Dictionary as follows: well·ness, noun, the quality or state of being in
good health, an actively sought after goal such as in that of a healthy
lifestyle that promotes well-being. (Syn: healthiness, fitness, soundness
and wholeness). It is essentially the state of balanced physical and mental
health.
Today, Spas are an integral component of finding and creating wellness, and
the expansion as well as inclusion of these elements on the spa’s treatment
menus. Wellness and well-being is a lifestyle, which provides for continued
business for spas, as they are “centres of wellness” and an integral place
in societies everyday lifestyle.
As spa-goers have embraced the benefits of wellness the industry has enjoyed
phenomenal growth leading to a more integrated and holistic approach to
health and ensures a greater sense of well-being is achieved.

Les Nouvelles Esthetiques is “Setting the Pace”, which is the theme of the
Spa Conference in 2006. The Spa Conference will be hosted at The Forum,
Bryanston, Johannesburg, on the 25th and 26th of June 2006.
The Les Nouvelles Esthetiques Spa Conference and Exhibition is a
"must-attend" educational and networking event for Spa Professionals in
2006, where attendees will be provided with inspiration and tools to succeed
