The Ingrid Millet Facial Experience
by Jacqui Cockerill, Les Nouvelles Esthetiques S.A

Having been a resident of the Highway area in KwaZulu Natal my whole life, you can imagine my surprise when I discovered this little gem of a salon tucked away in the quiet suburbs of Westville. Upon arrival at Glamour and Glitz, I was welcomed by my therapist, Natasha and ushered into a pristine treatment room, decorated in white and pink (although men's treatments are conducted in a more appropriate blue room!)

This was my first introduction to the Ingrid Millet, Paris range of products. I discovered that the person behind the brand was a French cosmetologist named Ingrid Millet, who made the groundbreaking discovery that plant cellular extracts have a remarkable rejuvenating effect on the skin. She became the first to use them in cosmetics, as a mean of combating premature skin ageing.

During my treatment I sensed that Madame Millet's holistic approach to skin diagnosis was echoed by my knowledgeable and well informed therapist, Natasha, who speedily diagnosed my skin type and opted to use products from Ingrid Millet's Source Pure range, which were suited to my skin type.

My facial began with the application of a velvety-smooth cleansing milk to remove all traces of make-up. Some exfoliating products can be quite harsh on the skin but the soft grains in the Source Pure Exfoliating Gel left my skin feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The baby blue Mask Modelant Aromafraicheur Oxygene Lumiere which Natasha used on me was the fascinating, plasticky kind that you peel off in one piece once it has 'set'. They say "the devil is in the detail" and in my case, I would have to say "the divine is in the detail". I'm sure we've all been for facials where the therapist nips out of the room as soon as your mask is on and returns 15 - 20 minutes later to remove it. During my Source Pure experience, Natasha used this time to give me a pampering hand and arm massage, using a deliciously fragranced moisturizer that left me feeling like the cat that licked the cream. But I think my favourite product was the Fresh Moisture Emulsion. This light, easily-penetrating liquid emulsion with fruit extracts works to moisturize and refine the skin, whilst also absorbing excess sebum, so it left my skin with a beautiful matte finish, which is a real bonus for anyone who suffers from an oily T-panel!

Needless to say, when I left Glamour and Glitz both my skin and I were radiant and delighted!
