Discover and explore the mystical Olos massage from Morocco
by Robyn David, Les Nouvelles Esthetiques S.A.

I have always been fascinated by Morocco, a red land of mystery and passion, where intense flavours blend with the enchanting scent of spices and vibrant colours. It is a land of unique beauty, harmonious contrasts and history. It was thus to my delight to discover that Olos had introduced a new Moroccan massage.

As I drove along the dusty road, down to the valley of Riverview Spa just outside of Johannesburg, I realised that I was going to experience something truly special. My skilful therapist Elmari greeted me, as she gave me a tour of the spa, with its spectacular views and positioning along the banks of the Crocodile River. Riverview Spa is truly a sanctuary, overlooking the Zwartkop Mountains and surrounding hills, creating an environment of tranquillity and unsurpassed beauty. Boasting ten treatment rooms, and luxurious outdoor spa facilities, the spa has most certainly achieved its motto of escaping into nature and discovering peace and serenity.

Upon entering the treatment room, the sounds of Morocco came to life, as original Moroccan music was played, creating a unique ambiance that instantly allows you to drift to this magical place. As my massage began, Elmari applied the Argan Massage Oil in sweeping movements to my body. This rich, highly regenerative oil, enriched with Patchouli essential oil helps to relieve stress and tension during the massage, whilst its calming aroma soothes the mind and heightens the senses.

The massage movements are truly unique, in this spectacular treatment. Inspired by the Hammam ritual, the movements used help to purify the skin, whilst relieving stresses and muscle and joint tension, completely invigorating the body and pampering the spirit. These relaxing movements are combined with the use of the traditional Moroccan Mhakka, a handmade terracotta massage devise that has been used for centuries to purify the skin. This amazing devise only adds to the remarkable sensory experience of the Olos Moroccan massage, truly leaving the body invigorated, the mind relaxed and the soul revitalised as one enjoys a mystical journey the land of red sand and turquoise sea.
