Discover and explore the relaxing Olos massage from Polynesia
by Robyn David, Les Nouvelles Esthetiques S.A.

Travelling along the dusty path to the Riverview Spa, towards the sound of the running water of the Crocodile River, most certainly provides for the ideal environment to experience a massage from the dream-like islands of Polynesia.

Upon arriving at the magnificent Riverview Spa, I was whisked away into a world of beauty and tranquillity. It is a spa that is a true escape into nature, where one can de-stress your mind, revitalize your body and soothe your soul. This was heightened upon entering the tastefully decorated treatment rooms of the spa.

As my Polynesian Olos Massage began, the unique Polynesian music played, with its distinct Polynesian guitar playing allowed me to leave the world behind and discover a place with clear crystal water, a place of beauty. I pictured the Polynesian Islands with their striking coral reefs, untouched beaches, breathtaking sunsets and casually fitted hammocks in palm trees, as my skilled therapist used two crystal sea green cotton sheets to envelope my body to create sweet dance movements in harmony to the music and the waves of the sea. The stunning Monoi Massage Oil was applied to my body, a precious oil obtained from the Tiare flower and Coconut, which is highly hydrating. It is enriched with Ylang-Ylang essential oil that stimulates the circulation and, with its intense flowery perfume, infuses calm and relaxation during the massage.

The sensory experience was continued through the use of exclusive massage techniques, inspired by Lomi Lomi massage, specific hand movements which stimulate the lymphatic circulation and have a draining action, alternated with long gentle strokes that envelop the body and spirit. This phenomenal massage allows one to escape and truly discover a peace of mind, and fulfilment of the spirit that one only experiences on a exclusive island filled with harmony and beauty.
